Asian Recipes Chicken, Delicious Crispy Chicken SUSHI

It’s time for chicken processed into Japanese dish! When you hear “sushi”, what do you think at the first time? Raw fish? The word actually refers to a dish of rice with vinegar served with multiple fillings and toppings include raw fish. At the beginning, sushi was created as preservation, when fermented rice used to store fish and keep it fresh during travel to consumer. This method can protect raw fish up to one year.

At that moment, sushi was eaten during feast day, festivals or celebration. Professional chef will spend a decade to learn how to cook sushi rice and cut fish perfectly because it will make a difference. But don’t give up! On this recipe, i will make a sushi with crispy chicken as a filling. You can use boneless chicken breasts. If you like to use raw fish, please pay attention to cut fish for your sushi rolls. First, cut straight down become the filet, then cut that piece become two part so you have thin and long  strip for raw fish or chicken meat. Raw fish you can use: salmon, crab, tuna, shrimp etc. I will make an experiment with avocado as a topping. For the rice, you can choose any brand of japanese rice grain.

Servings : 4 portion

A. Ingredients for Asian Recipe Chicken, Crispy Chicken Sushi


  1. 5 pcs seaweed (nori) sheets
  2. 450 g short grain Japanese rice (you can use seasoned rice)
  3. 5 leaf lettuce
  4. 1 pcs avocado, sliced into thin strips
  5. 1/2 cup of rice vinegar
  6. 4 cups water, pour into the rice
  7. Cucumber, cut into many cubes

Filling (crispy chicken)

  1. 250 g boneless chicken breast, cut around 1 cm (thin and long strips)
  2. 5 cloves garlic, smash it
  3. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  4. 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  5. 1 egg, mix
  6. 150 g all purpose flour
  7. 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  8. Olive/cooking oil, to fry the chicken


  1. 5 tablespoon mayo
  2. 3 tablespoon chili sauce
  3. Wasabi, as you needed

B. Instructions for Cooking Asian Recipes Chicken, Crispy Chicken Sushi

  1. Cook the sushi rice with rice cooker. Leave it for 25 minutes.
  2. While the rice cooks, seasoning the chicken with garlic, salt and pepper. Leave it for 5 minutes.
  3. Pour all purpose flour and cornstarch into separated dish.
  4. Add the chicken into a bowl with egg, next into a mixture of flour and cornstarch.
  5. Fry the chicken until golden brown.
  6. When the rice has finished cooking, pour the rice with rice vinegar.
  7. Remove rice from heat, move in a bowl, let it cool.
  8. Let’s make the sauce while the rice will be cold. Leave it for 10 minutes.
  9. Rice was cold. You will ready to roll!
  10. Prepare a bamboo mat, wrap it in plastic wrap.
  11. Lay a sheet of nori, add the rice (spread with spoon), mayo, crispy chicken, lettuce and cucumber. Roll and squeeze.
  12. Slice into some part with a thickness around 2 cm.
  13. Next, add the avocado as the topping. Arrange on the plate and enjoy!

C. Instruction for Making Sushi Sauce, Asian Recipes Chicken

  1. Mix mayo and chili sauce, stir it. Adjust to your spicy level.
  2. Add wasabi. Pour into separate dish.

D. Recipe Tips

  1. You can use electric rice cooker to cook sushi rice. If cook with manual method, it will takes time.
  2. Sushi have to eat in fresh condition.
  3. You can use mushroom to replace raw fish/chicken (vegetarian option).
